The history of Schnauzer
Schnauzer is a German dog breed with a long history. Schnauzer dogs were used to catch vermin, herd livestock, pull carts and guard property.
Appearance of Schnauzer
Schnauzer dog breeds are robust and almost square dogs with an alert manner. The head of Schnauzer dogs have a rather broad skull and a fairly long strong muzzle. The nose of Schnauzer dogs is black. The eyes of Schnauzer dogs are oval and dark. Schnauzer dogs have V shaped ears usually drop forward but Schnauzer dogs' ears are cropped in some countries.
The neck of Schnauzer dogs is strong and slightly arched and is carried on a short body with a moderately deep chest. The legs of Schnauzer dogs are muscular and well developed and end in cat feet. The tail of Schnauzer dogs is usually docked.
Schnauzer coat
The coat of Schnauzer dogs is wiry, harsh and short with a dense undercoat. Schnauzer dogs have prominent moustache, whiskers and eyebrows. Schnauzer colors are either pure black or shades of grey.
Size of Schnauzer dogs
Schnauzer dogs are 19 inches tall and weigh about 40 lbs or 18 kgs. Female Schnauzer dogs are slightly shorter and weigh slightly less.
